About Our Office

The East Gurage Zone Butajira Town Administration Science and Information Technology Office mission is to provide technical support during the development and transformation phase of the Development and Change Period Plan, with the aim of strategically guiding the development and dissemination of science and information technologies. This will facilitate the research, adoption, adaptation, and utilization of modern technologies in the city to the fullest extent. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide, equipping the community with tools to excel in the global digital economy.

Managers's Message

Science and information technology play a crucial role in the economic, social, and political progress of a country. Consequently, the government has been making significant efforts to ensure that citizens benefit from modern technology, and to accelerate technological advancement. In a short span of time, people in our country have been able to access information and communication technologies, even those that are not easy to use. Several initiatives exemplify this effort, including the establishment of a science and information technology center in our region, which has successfully launched a hub and one center, providing support to about 20 institutions for the time being. We have also begun offering paperless services, such as modernizing municipal services, updating hospital systems, and networking hospitals. Additionally, the company is developing a new website that will connect its services. Regarding science and innovation, efforts will focus on achieving the sector’s planned objectives by promoting city-wide activities, enhancing citizen engagement, and increasing productivity and resource utilization.
